I have been using this Mac Pro Late 2013 2.7 GHz 12-core Intel Xeon E5 Mac for premiere for years. I have 64 GB of storage ADMFIrepro D700 6 GB graphis card. I hadn't changed anything, but then Premiere Pro Version 15.2.0 started crashing. I hadnt upgraded to Big Sur and thought that might be the problem. I did that a few days ago and the crashing has gotten worse. I am trying to edit something short and simple. I reinstalled the 0S, I trashed my preferences. I have plenty of good storage. I dont know what else to do. Can anyone advise?

Thanks, I have a deadline and am going into surgery tomorrow and wont be able to sit at my computer for a bit to work after that. I guess I can work on my laptop but that isnt convenient.

Did you say you did reset your Premiere preferences? This usually helps.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

thanks everyone. It turns out the file itself was corrupt and inserting any component of it into a new project didnt work. I had to delete and start again. Luckly it wasnt a particularly complex project....
