Letters L and R on the audio wave

With the new update, the letter L and R now appears on the timeline, but this letters is disturbing when you need to cut off a part of your project... And to make a perfect cut, you will need to expand the timeline... and doing this all the time is very disruptive!

Is there something to disable this?

If your track height is small enough those l/r indicators don't show up. 

Are they just blocking your view of those first few frames?

The letters L and R appear in all previous versions of Premiere.
