Link Source Text values in graphics?

Hi everyone. I want to make a complicated caption animation motion graphic template that I can use in all my projects.

The issue I'm having is with how to approach having multiple text objects. One of my objects is going to be the inside of the text with an image masked over it, and the other object is going to be solely the outline with another image masked over it.

I want to link the values of my two text objects - e.g you change the text of object 1 to say "caption" and object 2's text updates to say "caption" without you having to manually type "caption" in both the text boxes.

Is there any way to do this / any workaround if there is not a way to do this?
