I have a linked clip; both parts move together, but only horizontally.

In the past, the Audio track would move down when the Video track was moved up. That doesn't happen anymore and I can't figure out why.

That feature has gone for a long time now, as in many years.

Select video and move up or down.

Dont let go of the mouse and now hold down cntr+shift

Grab audio and move up or down.

LOL! I get it now.

I've been working almost exclusively for several years in still photography.  Last year I started doing videos again. I'm glad I finally posted this question, that's been bugging me.  I've wasted a lot of time digging through Preferences.

This behavior is something many editors like ... and yet it terrifies most audio pros.

Audio folk set detailed track systems with different types of audio grouped on sets of tracks carefully stacked. They do not want tracks moving vertically.

So this is something that it seems depends on whether you're editing a sequence or laying a sound bed.

Personally I'd like it if we could have a user choice on this.

Makes sense, but I agree, it should be optional.

Thanks
