linking audio after enhancing

I have an updated version of premiere on a new laptop. I do podcasts, and as always, use Enhance to improve the audio. My usual way has been to make an MP3 of the audio, and enhance it, then replace it in premiere with the enhanced audio.

However, it won't let me link the audio and the video. Or, to be more clear, it allows me to click link, but then they are not actually linked.

It's a major time killer to edit now. Because I have to make four cuts, 2 on audio and 2 on video. Then I have to switch to the selection tool and click both the audio and video, holding control to select...THEN click ripple delete. Then I have to switch back to the cut tool for the next edit. It's extremely tedious. If there isn't a better way, the program isn't worth the aggravation, and I've been using 2 years.

I realize the bete can enhance right in premiere. There was a reason I had a problem with this, though at the moment it escapes me.

I do not follow your workflow.

But this is what i did before beta.

Render and replace audio

Reveal render and replace from timeline in Explorer.

Drag this file into Enhance in Adobe Podcast beta.

Save.

Replace (Render and replace) footage in the Project panel with the enhanced audio.

Everything is still linked.

So to be clear. You have a video file with attached audio. You bring that into Premiere. Then in Enhance (I'm presuming another app?) you do work on the audio, import that into Premiere. Then delink/delete the original audio, replace it with the enhanced version, and select the audio and video tracks on your sequence, "link" ...

Is that correct?
