Making cURL calls from Premiere ExtendScript

Is there any way to make cURL calls or other ways of accessing URLs through Extendscript in Premiere?  The reason why I'm asking is I want to verify my users have a license to use the product through Gumroad.  I know I could do it in JS in the CEP Panel but I'd love to have it in the JSX so I could secure it better with JSXBin.  I'm worried someone could easily circumvent the liscense in JS.

I know of no way to call curl from within ExtendScript.
