Merged clips from 4K RED showing up too large for frame in Source

I'm working on a project that was built a few years ago in an older version of Premiere, where some RED footage was made into Merged clips. The project is being revisited, but all Merged clips from the RED footage are showing up as 1920x1080 in frame size, which makes them exceed the frame, and I can't access their dimensions in the Source window/Effects Controls to fix them. And wherever they exist in a sequence, any markers in the clip include the phrase "Conflicting field data", when the overlays setting is set to visible. I'm completely at a loss of how to fix this, other than editing them into a sequence and hitting 'set to frame size' for them to re-frame properly, but ideally the original merged clips in the browser would work properly. And I don't have time to make new merged clips from the original sources.
