I have all my clips from 3 cameras and an audio recorder synced. I drag the sequence into a "new sequence" so everything is mixed down to one video and one audio track. Then when I try to do a multi-cam edit (after enabling multi-cam) the new sequence 'appears' to be there on the timeline but there is no audio. What might I be doing wrong?

You don't hear audio during playback, or you don't see a waveform?

Render the audio for that sequence. Report back the results.

Hi Jim;
Sorry it took this long to respond; I was out of town. I greatly appreciate you being willing to help me with this. Just so you understand; I used Premiere Pro about 15 years ago with different cameras (only 2 DSLRs) and had no problems with it at all. Now I've upgraded to PP CC 2017 and am using a variety of cameras and camcorders, so things are a bit more complicated. I am studying a tutorial, but of course, they don't always show you all the little details and some of their tutoring 'seems' to be simply incorrect! (It's a video tutoring couse produced by Adobe (so they certainly ought to know their own product!) but it looks like they are using a PP CC version from maybe a couple years ago (I did specifically order the tutorial for the 2017 version).
So; would you please explain how I would render the audio? BTW; I am using the audio from an audio recorder and have the audio from the 3 cameras muted.
One more question; at what point in the process should I render the audio?

The option is under the Sequence menu. Render right after you make the multicam sequence.

That did it! Thanks!
Now I have another problem. After creating the mixed down version (and now
the audio plays), I select it on the timeline, right click on it and Enable
Multi-camera. However; instead of seeing the views from each separate
camera in the Source window, I'm only seeing one camera view. What might I
be doing wrong?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You don't use Multicam in the Source Monitor, you cut it from the Program Monitor after switching it to Multicam view.

Jim;
Thanks for your response but I don't understand what you mean or how to do that ("you cut it from the Program Monitor after switching it to Multicam view"). I'm obviously not as savvy with this program as you are.
If you would like to explain further, that would be appreciated but I am also getting "Classroom in a Book" from Peachpit Press which, hopefully will help a lot. I originally purchased "Learn by Video" from them which was marketed as being created for the 2017 version of PP CC but now they admit that it was made for the original version (2013?) of PP CC. They say that the "Classroom in a Book" is specifically for the 2017 version.

Did you find the Multicam button behind the + sign at the bottom right hand corner of the Program monitor? Drag that down onto the toolbar and click it. That could be the problem.

I have had the same problem, but I am editing in the program monitor, not the source, and it is still showing the same view in both cameras, even though they are two separate shots and multicam has been enabled. This has done this to me randomly throughout several large projects. I have to re-nest bunches of times, and have so many sequences going on that I get confused, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Has a fix been found for this yet? I am following the usual path - assets into one bin, select all with the main audio selected first, Create Multicamera Source Sequence, Right click that and select New Sequence from Clip. I get the right icon and a new sequence opens but when I open the Multicam editor in the Program window, I get two windows (It's a two camera project) and the main but all show the same image. If I right click on the timeline, the option to change from Camera 1 to Camera 2 is there but does nothing. I have Shift-Alt while booting the program to no avail. And I have just started on a funded project!! Isn't it always the way?

Just found the answer to my problem after going back a couple of generations of PP Cc 2017 (which wasn't the problem anyway.
Somehow I had accidentally untargeted track V1 which held the Multicam sequence. Once that was sorted, all was well. there is a YouTube video demoing this issue.

Chris, I have a similar problem! Like FrankMac59, my problem is connected with a paid job, so I'm anxious for a reply, too. Here's the link to my issue: URGENT -- Multi-cam track DISAPPERED!
Any assist will be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if you saw my second posting where I found what the issue was. For some reason I had accidentally un-targeted track V1 so all I could see was the clip that was named on the timeline. Once I targeted V1, all was right with the world.
