I am AEing a multicam project and the editor is having issues with the edit. It is the first time either of us are using multicam so we are trying to work things out. The cameras used were in different resolutions, and we have figured out the scaling to fit the out-of-size shot to frame. However, he says when he puts a multicam shot into the timeline and cuts it, he tries to choose the segment to change scale but it scales the surrounding clips instead of the segment he highlighted. I am unable to reproduce this so I am not able to tell him how to fix it. Does anyone know why this might be happening or how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, you should not scale the multicam sequence or any segment of it,

scaling to fit your sequence size must be done on the multicam source sequence

or if you manually created your multicam, double click on it on the timeline, it will

take you to the sequence where the original footage are nested, scale them there

and the scale will update in the multicam sequence. If you created a multicam

source sequence, right click on it in the project panel and choose open in timeline,

source sequence, right click on it in the project panel and choose open in timeline,

scale your footage inside that sequence. you can also choose 'set to frame size' if

you are upscaling, it will preserve better quality, then if it still does not match you

can still scale a little bit more from the effect controls.

Take into consideration your required output size and make the scales and adjustments

based on that, your multicam sequence is the final from which you will be exporting, so

set it up to perfectly match the export settings you will be using.
