Hello Premiere lovers, i have an issue that started to happening recently and it makes my working process like a torture!

I hope some professinal users try to look and tell me what's going on!

I just explained and show the problem in a short video, so i thought that would be more clear.

Hi Musaby,
That looks incredibly frustrating.  Can you provide me a bit more info on the computer specs and video format?  What version of Premiere are you using?

You can also check your Audio Hardware settings are set to "No Input". Sometimes that will clear it up.

I can see in the video how it is lagging after making a change, but can you write out specific steps to create this issue so we can try and reproduce it here?

Hello Rach, i don't think it because of my laptop. As i said in the video i have a high level laptop and the project has literally nothing just video and couple png files. But i'll provide you anyway.

My computer specs:
MacBook Pro 14 inc M2 Max 12CPU 30GPU, 32GB Memory and 1TB SSD

And the video's properties i'm using is currently:

Type: MPEG Movie

File Size: 27,84 GB

Image Size: 3840 x 2160

Frame Rate: 25,00

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16-bit - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point -

Stereo Total Duration: 00:27:43:05

Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0

Alpha: None

Color Space: Rec. 709 Color Space

Override: Off Input

LUT: None

Video Codec Type: MP4/MOV H.264 10 bit 4:2:2

And i'm using the same video format since the new year and i had never this issue before, i worked more complicated projects more than this and i didn't have any issue.

And my PrPro version 24.1 and I just upgrade to the version 24.5 but nothing changed

And before your reply i read some others report and i found that was not just a small bug.
people was having this issue since 2023 and they also have some really high level computer specs more than mine and they also having same lagging eve nwhen they just do some cuts or trim or scrolling timeline etc.
And they also couldnt find some proper solutions and i have clients and i need to deliver tens of videos to them and this issue is a huge block on my work.

I tried everything like others, cleaning the caches, increasing the memory, upgrading software etc.
And i have empty space like more than enough(+360 GB) so i know it's not bc of those issues

If you have a solid solution ideas i would like to try also.

Thank you for interesting to help me,

Hi Musaby,

Did you try confirming Audio Hardware settings are set to "No Input?" Sometimes that will clear it up.

Which version of Premiere are you using?  What has changed recently?  Did you update or change anything before this happened?

Yes in the video i explained already but maybe my english wasn't clear in the video. I only did changes in premiere settings>media cache and i just dropped the space 92 GB to 40 GB for media cache files and also changed the delete cache files older than 90 days to 40 and right away(little after couple mins this issue started) and i immediatly go back to old settings but issue was still there.

And the suggestions you gave about my Audio hardware settings is System Default - External Headphone so you saying if i just change this option to "No Input" could work?

Now i'm using the Beta version(some people said this might help) and 24.1 version of Premiere.

i'm trying to do some temp solutions such as let's say i have 20 sequance that im working in same project, i'm just creating new project that only includes 5 sequance at a time, and i do not know the result yet, cause i'm working for dif project and premiere just run smooth at the moment, only for that spesific project that i have lag and delays, i tried dif type of proxies or everything and still same.

So if you have some another solutions i can also try and let you know during this day, cause after i finish project that im working on i'll work for that spesific project.
