My timeline preview renders stops before completing the render

Hi,

For some time my PP (latest version on fully updated Win 10 with Nvidia Studio latest version driver) has not been able to complete render previews - it starts, does some rendering and just stops and when done again does a little more (or sometimes nothing more).

This is very annoying. I tried to render the entire work area or just in-out - same thing.

My settings for previews are the common ones (below) - any suggestions? (I have seen some other users with this issue but no solution...).

Do you mean the preview resolution?

I am at 1/4 on the playback monitor.

My PC is very powerful 13900K with 4700.

Interesting. I changed it to 1080p and it does seem to help (not sure if it's 100% but it's much better).

Why do you think this happens? is this a bug or is something else going on here?

Its not a bug, your system cannot handle the large preview.

It used to be able before - Adobe did something in recent versions to change this.

Besides that - if a 13900K with 96GB of RAM can't handle a 4K preview what system can?

Is 2TB+ of free WD 850x SSD enough 🙂
Oh, and there is another 850X with 700GB+ of free space just for the cache.

Why is your playback at 1/4. If it is a powerfull system you should be able to playback in full.

Max resolution for preview is UDH is not common, usually you set it lower.

Yes, I believe I can play at 1/2 or even 1 but in many cases, I don't see a difference (even on a 32" 4K screen) since the preview screen is a fairly small part of the entire monitor.

I don't remember changing the preview to UHD it was basically the default and in recent PP versions something just stopped working...
