my video renderer setting in not highlighted in Premiere Pro. I want to change it to software only. any suggestions?. thanks

I apologize that you're having trouble. Is this a Mac with Apple Silicon? If so, sorry, Software Only is not available with that hardware.

It is a Mac laptop M1 Max

it is an MAc Laptop M1 Max.  just bought it a couple years ago... i was able to change it to software only in the EXPORT area, video settings.....that fixed it so i could output....

You need to boot into Rosetta mode for that to be enabled. Rosetta isn't available any longer. https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/system-requirements-dva-apps.html
