Need Help turning my stereo sequence into 5.1 surround sound ouput for streaming service

Hi All,

Anyone had any experience turning a stereo audio track into a 5.1 surround sound for output to a streaming service? Using PP 2020 on PC.

My research seems to indicate I would need to clean up my orignial audio timeline in PP and properly idenfify the tracks. i.e voice A1 and A2, Sound FX A3, Music A4 etc.

Then its as simple as creating a new 5.1 sequence, choose multiple-tracks, and create  6 new tracks and associte them accordingly to the orignial sequence. Then Pull my original sequence video and audio stems into that new 5.1 surrond sequence. Can anyone advise if I'm on the right track? Could it be this simple?
