Need Help with Persistent Video Playback Stutter Issue in Premiere Pro

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing a consistent issue with Premiere Pro that's been significantly affecting my video editing process, and I am in desperate need of a solution.

Every time I attempt to edit a video by dragging it into the "Source" panel or play the sequence, I encounter a stutter or choppiness in the video playback. The stuttering occurs every time I start the playback (by pressing the space bar), lasting for about a second before it resumes normal playback. However, if I stop and start the playback again, the stuttering reoccurs. This is particularly challenging as I often work on projects that require precise timing for cuts and transitions.

Here are the specifics of my system:

  • Premiere Pro version: 23.5 (latest)
  • Operating System: Windows 11 (latest update)
  • Laptop: Acer Nitro 5 17.3 inch
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-12700H
  • RAM: 32GB
  • Graphics card: RTX 3060 Mobile
  • NVIDIA Driver version: 536.67 (latest studio driver, also tried game optimized driver)
  • Source footage details: MP4 files, QHD at 60fps, 25mbps

I have been editing videos on this setup for 5-6 months without any issues. One day, this stuttering issue appeared out of the blue. I have tried various troubleshooting methods, including:

  1. Restarting the application
  2. Rebooting the computer
  3. Clearing Premiere Pro cache
  4. Reinstalling Premiere Pro (including older and beta versions)

Unfortunately, none of these have resolved the issue. If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any suggestions on what might be causing this issue and how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

I have a 2TB Kingston KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD (7,000MB/s read/write) and currently exactly 50% is full (1TB remaining). I store everything on this drive (OS, software, media, etc.)
