Need recommendation for mastering timeline please

I am suffering the torments of the 'darned' trying to master the Premiere Pro timeline.  I often can't figure out where I am in the timeline, and sometimes I simply cannot make the tracks a reasonable size, especially in the horizontal direction.

Can someone please recommend a video that covers timeline navigation in detail, and clearly?
