Needle on the Timeline Keeps Freezing

I recently updated to version 25.1.0 and started experiencing an issue with the timeline needle.
When I press play, the needle freezes repeatedly, making editing extremely difficult.

How can I resolve this issue?

Can you check your audio hardware settings and make sure Default Input is set to "No Input"

One potential thing to check is if you have an Nvidia GPU with G-Sync enabled. If so, try changing it in the Nvidia control panel so G-Sync only applies to Full Screen apps only. I had an issue with a laggy playhead and that was the problem for me at least.
