Hey guys, what happened to the export window. It's not intuitive at all. I can't choose bit rate for h264 mp4 anymore. I can't turn of audio without turning off video for export as well. This seems like a solution for prosumers who don't want full control. It's a big step down from the old export window.

It's really frustrating.

After poking around the export settings you will find you can do anything, but it's very cumbersome.

Lots of clicking and scrolling.

If you don't like it, send timeline to AME and use the old-fashioned export settings.

To get to those options, you have to click the "more ..." at the bottom of that section. As Ann notes, a lot of clicking.

Realistically, to use the new export panel you need to spend some time setting things up. It's a two-part job.

  • Go through and unstar ALL the stupid presets you'll never use.
  • Then make presets (and star them!) for the things you do need, in GREAT detail with anything in the "more ... " section set so you don't need to click into that area again.

It can take some time, but then the panel is mostly usable.

Except of course for the lack of showing file names in the folder locating option! Grrrrr ....
