Just bought a new computer, downloaded creative cloud / premiere pro, latest versions. Made a new project and imported .MTS video files which I have used in premiere pro on my last computer only days prior. There is no video attached to the files once they import.
Latest version of Premiere installed, Windows 11 Home
I have tried the following:
Renaming file extension
Using Media Browser
Importing 1 file at a time
Importing multiple files at a time
Downloading / Installing Quicktime
Clearing and moving Media Cache
Nothing is working and this makes no sense. I am almost ready to change programs if I keep having stupid problems with Premiere...

It seems that you have Windows 11 24H2 installed and since that version comes without Dolby Digital it cannot playback your files that probably have been recoderded with Dolby Digital audio. That combination gives no audio.
The solution is to install Dolby AC-3/AC-4 Installer found here: Download Dolby AC-3/AC-4 Installer
Did it work?

Ok, if you in Premiere Pro go to File > New > Bars and Tone and click OK and place it on the timeline, do you here the tone when you playback that clip?

Also original post is supposed to say there is no audio attached to the video file once imported. Computer plays back the files outside of premiere just fine, can't see how to edit post..

See my post abowe!
What happen if you create a brand new project and re-import the files? Since the files already have been imported as video-only-clips the audio wont show up if one add the audio codec.

Bars and Tone I get sound with that 'bars and tone' file. My imported video clips are not importing with sound attached, there is no waveforms being created. When I drag the imported clip to timeline there is no audio. If I view imported clip source there is no audio.

Ran Premiere in compatibility mode for Windows 7, while also running as administrator, importing through Media Browser gives me audio on the clips now...

Hmm, interesting...
Does it works if you only run Premiere Pro as an administrator? (iow, skipping the compability mode)
