Jerry, that is correct; the source media transcription only transcribes audio track 1 so far.

Good to know. I wish this to have been promoted as heavly as the feature. I was at NAB 2023 and no mention by the Adobe editors showing off Text Based Editing.
Ideally, it would be nice to be able to select the audio channel to transcribe since this transcription feature is limited to only one channel.
Thanks

My source audio is actually on channels one and two, and it is still not working. The files are .MXF with audio straight to camera from our field mixer. Other files have worked just fine. Any other thoughts here?

I was having the same error even after transcoding interview clips into 2 track stereo clips and importing back into the project. One workaround I found was to
place all of the clips into a sequence,
select all of the clips, right click on a clip,
select "Edit clip in Adobe Audition"
Once Audition opens, immediately select File>Close All
This will create new WAV files linked to your clips in the sequence. Once I did this, I had the option to Transcribe appear in the Text window. After the transcibing was complete, I was then able to perform text edits in my sequence.

This worked, Rob. How you even thought to do this is pretty amazing, but editing has always been about 95% problem solving. What a silly workaround, but I'm glad you tried it and shared it!
