No merge text segments button

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2023 Nov 07, 2023

Hello all, hopefully, someone can explain why I am unable to merge my text segments in transcription. I have created new files and loaded the footage in different ways, but no matter what I do, the merge and split buttons do not show up. Not just greyed out but not there altogether. I went through the tutorials and button show then, but when I was in the real project no buttons. See below.

It looks like you are viewing the sequence transcript. If you switch back to the transcript of the source clip (just double click the clip in the Project panel) you should see the buttons again.

Thanks for posting the screenshot, it was really helpful. You're in the "Transcript" tab of the Text panel. Switch to the "Captions" tab above the search bar and you'll see the buttons you're looking for.

Edit: Oops, forget my reply and listen to Annika. I misread what you were looking to do.
