Not enough ram?

I have been using Premiere Pro on my Macbook Air 2020 M1 - 8.GB Ram, for two years, and never had a problem.

Suddenly there isnt enough ram on my macbook, do i really have to buy a new one with 16 or more gb?

It seems wierd.

8GB of RAM is a minimum for Premiere. It should work but may be very slow, depedning on your footage, sequences, amount of content, etc.
