Offline audio channels in timeline but not in bin

I have a clip in my timeline with 4 tracks of audio.  I noticed that there are waveforms for only one channel.  I checked the channels and saw that only channel 1 was selected.  I fixed the channels so that they are mapped correctly but the the waveforms didn't change.  I match framed to the source monitor and noticed that channels 2-4 are offline.  I checked the bin and the chanels are offline there as well.  This is a proxy so I, detached and reattached the proxy.  The clip in the bin now has all channels and they are mapped correctly. However, when I take the clip to the timeline the same issue happens - no waveforms on channels 2-4 and when I match frame, the same chanels are offline.  I made a new sequence and dropped the clip in there and  everything is fine.  I made another new sequence and pasted my cut in there and when I drop this clip in, no waveforms on channels 2-4 and they're offline in the source window.

I know the audio channels on the proxies and raw match (I learned that mistake the hard way).  I am hesitant to delete the cache since this is a HUGE project and rebuilding that will take forever.

Mac Studio M2

Premiere 24.6.4

Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

Any ideas as to why this is happening?  If I'm forgetting anything, I'll try to answer ASAP.

It sounds like that project hasn't updated the status of the proxies. I would suggest moving its sequences to your media project, deleting the old project, then moving those sequences to a new project.

Are you working within a Production? If so, try adding the clip to a sequence that's located in the same project as the original media and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, we're working in a production and by placing the clip in a sequence from the project where it lives showed the correct audio channels.  So, as a test, I pasted my cut into the same sequence and the offending clip now shows wavewforms on all channels and they are online when I match frame.  Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks, Paul.  That's what I did and everything looks good now.  Thanks for your help.

Any idea what would cause the project to not update the proxy status?
