I'm creating an animated book cover. I designed the static elements in Photoshop and brought them over to Premiere Pro. In Premiere Pro any outer glow becomes very harsh. This is happening with any glow I try to add within Premiere Pro as well. Is there any way to keep the softness as it appears in Photoshop?

Are you using .psd files to get the elements to Premiere? Are the layers rasterized in Photoshop?

They are PNG files. Would .psd work better? I have tried both rasterized and not. I thought that might be it but it didn't seem to make any difference at all.

As Meg The Dog suggest, it would be far better to use the PSD file directly. It's the big advantage to use Adobe Products, It give you far better options and compatibility.

Thank you. I did try it with PSD. It didn't fix this issue. Though I now see the benefit in using it anway.
I don't know if it's something in my settings or what. But anything with outer glow is very harsh in my Premiere Pro. Even when I put it on something as simple as a circle or try to add the alpha glow within Premiere.
This is the result of the alpha glow on a circle.

First, what are your settings in Photoshop RVB, 8 bits, 16 bits ?
Second, what option did you select in your psd import options ? I think you have selected layer size in the import options so the apha is restricted to the boundaries of the layer.

I have tried it with both 8 bits and 16 bits with no change.
That may have been the issue with the alpha glow. I'm hoping I can fix the original issue. I only went to the alpha glow as a last resort.
