Hello everyone,

i'm using premiere pro since few years now as a hobby but it starts to be impossible to enjoy now.

Whatever project I open, whatever format I try the playback (preview) is not following. I'm not even talking adding effects or LUT simply playback won't work fine, few seconds ok, then the image pauses the sound keeps rolling behind.  I tried with proxies and lower render preview. still the same.

System:

Windows 11 Pro 64bits of course (reinstalled)

RTX 3080 (studio driver up to date)

Intel i7 7820X (3.6GHz)

64Gb RAM

Premier Pro installed on the OS SSD

Rushs are on a seperate drive (4Tb quiet new)

I tried many things like deleting cache or deleting preferences or reinstalling windows and premiere... but i'm out of idea now.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Sorry after rechecking it's only when i use proxy the preview stops at 3sec of whatever i edit.

I'm on H264 and the drive is a seagate 7200rpm

the thing is it will become choppy without proxies in a moment whenever i will add color corrections, thats why i decided to add the proxy

Spinning drives are not very good for video editing.

I have a spinning drive that I only use for back ups.

Footage etc are all on ssd's.

yes but honestly the original footages are on the same drive and it runs without problem.

I tried to import all footages on a SSD in the past and couldn't see the difference... once your timeline gets complex the drive isn't the real issue i guess
