Playback Audio Dropout / Interface Unresponsive

M1 Max hardware, 32GB RAM
Media is full HD; Apple ProRes 422 Proxy or LT; 4 channels audio
Media drive is USB SS10 (10GBit/s)

I'm getting random intermittent unresponsive interface while working in the timeline. That means pressing play / working with elements in the timline and nothing happening ... for 10-60 seconds. Sometimes.

Additionally, sometimes, randomly, intermittently, playback of audio clips (on some tracks, sometimes) just stops - playback continues without audio, or with audio from some tracks and not others.

I am getting the same issue of audio dropouts, sometimes it's only some tracks that drop out and other times it's everything. All reflected on the audio meter as well. This is happening on my work computer and on my desktop at home (both PCs).
