While editing, the playback on timeline randomly stops working. This started after the most recent update. I'm on version 23.6.0 (Build 65)
Everything else works while this is happening except exporting and viewing a clip in the preview window. I can mark in and mark out, lift and cut on the timeline itself and also save my project but I cannot export or play once the transport control freezes.

From what I can tell, this happened only after the most recent update. I went back one version to see if it helps the problem.

and does it? Updates often put greater demands on your system. And what are you source properties and sequence settings?

I will update as soon as I know.
I'm working on a Xeon W-2265 with 128GB of RAM. I would think that should be adequate since I'm only working with a 29.97 1080p H264 source. What do you mean by sequence "settings" exactly?

Make the timeline active and go to the sequence menu and choose “ sequence
settings“--

So far, I am unable to break version 23.5. I have my sequence set to our broadcast cameras which are shooting 720p 59.94.

I had the same problem with 23.4, it looks like it was fixed in 23.5, and it got back again in 23.6.
It looks like it happens randomly if do a trim or ripple delete and then hit play quickly (and I'm very fast in editing). Now it's happening more frequently with 23.6 than 23.4, and I have to restart Pr every few minutes.
Switched back to 23.5 and things are good once again. (Win 10)

Hello @charlenej93008759,
Sorry about that. Is it possible to get more info about your system and media, please? CPU, GPU, RAM, and HD info, along with media info about the format, frame size, and which camera shot the footage.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hello,
Thanks for your answer.
Here the infos I can share :
Processor : AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
RAM : 128 Go
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER (v 545.84)
media : footages 4K 24 bits, 25 f/s all shooted with a Sony FX3 and some shots a converted in proxys
But I'm not sure it's because of the medias because we have the same issue in others projects in 1080p shooted with a little camera...
Since I installed Premiere v23.5 it seems to be better but we have the same issue with Premiere v24.0...
It's not every time, it's very random : some day it's 10 times in hour and some day it's just 3 times the day. But the only way to keep working is to close Premiere and then open it again... Very frustrating when you are editing !
Thanks if you are an answer !

I have that issue with 24.0, but not with Beta 24.1. Give it a try and see if the problem persists.
