playback stuck in full

im trying to figure out why my playback gets stuck in full only when i change my sequence settings from 1920 x 1080 to 480 x 360. when the settings are 1920 x 1080 i can playback in whatever quality i want but once i change the aspect ratio to what i want it to be its stuck in full playback.

Playback quality is a resolution thing ... that's why it shows as say 1/4, 1/2.

When you have such a tiny frame-size as 480x360, it can't get smaller than that. And why ... with a tiny framesize like 480x360, would you need a lower resolution playback?

oh ok i see what you mean. Although I still wish i could playback in 1/2 since the effects i have on some clips cause my mac to not playback smoothly, but thanks for answering
