my premiere doesn't recognize my video card

My timeline freezes a lot, I can't watch the entire video because it freezes, the video doesn't play smoothly and this really affects me, does anyone know how I can fix it? I've seen several tutorials, I've changed everything and it doesn't work.

We'd need information to even guess!

OS/CPU/GPU, GPU driver number. The media and effects used of course are also required. As at least the beginning of the discussion.

Hi @Gustavo29675820snjj,

Thanks for the message. Does your computer have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1630, 1650, or 1650 Ti GPU? If so, update to the following studio driver v.551.68. More info: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5525. Let us know if that helps you. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello,

To address the issues you're facing with Adobe Premiere Pro, including your video card not being recognized, timeline freezing, and choppy playback, try the following troubleshooting steps:
 1. Update Software and Graphics Drivers: Ensure Adobe Premiere Pro and your graphics card drivers are up to date.
2. Adjust Premiere Pro Settings: Explore settings within Premiere Pro that may improve performance, such as rendering GPU acceleration:
  • Inside Premiere Pro, go to File > Project Settings.
  • Select General.
  • Under Video Rendering & Playback, select Software Only for IGPU or strong desktops, CUDA for Nvidia GPUs, OpenCL for AMD GPUs.
3. Optimize Playback Resolution: Lower the playback resolution and use proxies for smoother editing.
4. Check Media Compatibility: Ensure your media files are in a format compatible with Premiere Pro.
5. Update or Configure BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes, updating or adjusting settings in your BIOS/UEFI can resolve hardware recognition issues.
6. Optimize System Performance: Close unnecessary programs and processes to free up system resources.
7. Create a New Project: Test if the issue persists in a new Premiere Pro project.
8. Reinstall Premiere Pro: If all else fails, uninstall and then reinstall Premiere Pro.

After attempting these steps, if your issues continue, it may be beneficial to look more closely at your specific system setup. Please share your system information with us If you would like, including:
 - Operating System and Version
-  CPU Type and Speed
 - Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card Make and Model
- Adobe Premiere Pro Version
- Metadata of your raw materials

This information will help us understand your setup better and provide more targeted advice for resolving the challenges you’re encountering.
