Hi at all,

first of all i'm using: Premiere Pro with latest patches.

now to my Hard and Soft Specs:

MONITOR:
LG 38WK95C-W 95,25 cm (38 Zoll) Curved 21:9 UltraWideâ„¢ IPS Monitor (QHD+, HDR10, USB-Type C, AMD Radeon FreeSync)

MAINBOARD:
MSi MPG X570 GAMING PLUS (MS-7c37) 2.0

CPU:
AMD RYZEN 7 3800X 8 CORE PROCESSOR @4,5 MHz

MEMORY:
DDR4 - 64 GBytes @3600 MHz

GRAPHICS:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 VISION OC 24 GBytes
GDDR6X CORE 1755 MHz
MEMORY 19500 MHz

DISC SPECS:
1x 500 GByte Samsung MZ-V7S500BW 970 EVO Plus 500 GB NVMe M.2 Internal SSD

1 x 2 TByte Samsung MZ-V7S2T0BW 970 EVO Plus 2 TB NVMe M.2 Internal SSD

1x 8 TByte Western Digital RED
1x 8 TByte Seagate USB 3.0
1x 2 TByte Toshiba USB 3.0

i'm creating "let's plays" for youtube in 4K and this video files i capture with OBS Studio LOSSLESS.

i open Premiere Pro and import the Videofile and now i have trouble:

if i hit the Play preview , the Preview does not run stutter free. I mean, i have a monster PC and the Specs are more than enuff.

WHY DOES THE PREVIEW STUTTER ANYWAYS??? It's really annoying! Preview is set to play 1/2

I also used: PROXI but with a file of a lossless size by 450GB i have not the time to wait until it's finished.

What cause the Problem in stuttering the preview? The workflow is horrible

thanks for help

i can't find a "edit message" button,

so here is another information. Capturing goes directly to the

2 TByte Samsung MZ-V7S2T0BW 970 EVO Plus 2 TB NVMe M.2 Internal SSD

and it's the same SSD while editing in Premiere Pro

Not an answer to the actual question, but with proper tool you can create 1920x1080 proxies at speed 5x faster than real time, ie 300fps+. Probably even more

The tool that do actual job is NVEncC64 ( https://github.com/rigaya/NVEnc )

But to spare your time, here is my pack of ready to go presets:   https://1drv.ms/u/s!Andr88T403SpgRL5G8nDA5pXK_Vf?e=dwpceJ

The one you need is called "Proxy 1080p NVEnc [.mov]", instruction how to use is inside, but I recite it here:

1) Create a desktop shortcut  (not a copy!) for a preset file

2) Now just grab the video files you want to process and drop them on that shortcut

3) Wait till done, look for output files in a corresponding folder along with originals: Proxy\, Delivery*\, Remuxed*\ etc

It's not that uncommon to see people build a computer and assume that it will negate all workflow considerations. It usually results in this kind of post.

The media you work with has a massive impact on the performance. It's 4k, high(er) bitrate - as far as OBS and an H264 file is concerned; I don't know that it actually is - I'm guessing it's 60fps footage, it's a bad editing codec, and it may also have variable framerate. Those are all things going against you.

Sweet video card, but at the moment hardware decoding isn't going to assist with your H264 media. (You should get that in the future, though), so that still means you're piping in your high fps h264 to your CPU and it's going to choke and you're going to be dropping frames, etc. Depending on the variable framerate issues you have, that can also cause craziness.

https://www.reddit.com/r/VideoEditing/wiki/faq/vfr

Getting your footage into an optimized editing codec is going to help - however you choose to do that - and potentially dealing with that VFR if you have that.

Does the video play smooth Window Media Player? When you say lossless is it uncompressed? Your hard drives might not have the through put for uncompressed. Selecting 1/2 reolution would not help if the hard drive is pegged at 100%. If you are using H.264/465 some variations of that codecs are hard to playback because Nvenc cannot handle all the h.264/265 variations.
