PP 22.4 constantly crashing - maybe Sony mxf?

On a 2019 Mac Pro OS12.4. I can work for an hour, maybe 4 then the app crashes with a "serious error" message. If I open the recovered copy of the project, the app is unresponsive and must force quit and relaunch. If I choose not to open previous project, the app hangs before the choose to open or start a new project dialog.  I did all the cache, prefs and database trashing and even downgraded from 22.5 to 22.4. I am working on 3 projects at once, but it seems that the project loaded with Sony MXF 4K XAVC Intra QFHD is the problem child. My normal workflow is to ingest or pre-transcode source material to Pro Res, but this project is really large so I'm working with native MXF. I need help here!
