I tried to find a way to contact Adobe directly but each link took me here.
Yesterday, Premier Pro was running totally fine. Today.. every project old and new that I open all lock up and crash within about 30 secs. I don't have the most amazing pc but nothing has changed and it was working fine before.
Specs: 1080gtx, Ryzen 5 1600X (3.6GHz), 16gb RAM, heaps of SSD space.
I have tried reseting prefrences, rolling back to older versions, uninstalling totally and reinstalling. Nothing works.
Please help =(
UPDATE: It crashes the instant I interact with the timeline.
Is it doing the same in Premiere 2022?
So I just did a full uninstall and currently installing v 22.6.4. I will reply in time when I can tell if it crashes or not.
Let us know how you get on 😉
It still crashes, no longer tells me its crashed just closes.
In Premiere preferences > Media, try to disable:
(bottom two tickboxes):
See if it helps.
OH WOW! that worked thank you! Can you help me understand why that works please?
From what I understand, the message you received was about some issue with the graphics card (Premiere can use GPU acceleration for better performance) and if there is any issue with graphics card, disabling these options should help, don't worry, there'll be no problems with performance 😉
I'm glad it worked! 🙂
Excellent, im working on a temp station atm and my normal pc back home is much more powerful. This was really helpful information.
Thank you again!
You're welcome. I'm glad it's working for you now 🙂
dont understand? i am having the same issue but it wont open for me to even get to preferences
Have you tried to reset Premiere preferences?
No dice for me. I've reset, rolled-back, uninstalled, pre-rendered, updated drivers, rolled back drivers. It's broke.
I read your message. It seems that you are having trouble with launch. Would you consider contacting us for one-on-one support? Click here and then click on the chat icon in the lower-right side of the screen. Ask for the "video queue." Those are the folks on my team that are video specialists and can help. Let us know if they help you and what they did to solve the issue to benefit others that may be facing the issue, if you don't mind. Sorry for the frustration.
I've gotten some functionality back by removing the MB battery and setting BIOS settings back to default. I've gotten the project completed however I'm going to do a rebuild and let you know.
Thanks for letting us know about your progress, JP.
