Hello all,
Adobe premiere pro 25 and 25.1 will not launch. It will appear in task manager for a brief moment, then disappear. It never shows a splashscreen. Version 23.6.8 works. The same issue is present with Media Encoder. This is a brand new computer, but it is a Surface with snapdragon. System specs below. Windows is up to date.

Premiere pro 25.1 >>>> Will not launch
Adobe Media Encoder 23.6.8 >>>> WORKS

Hi Jamie
Yes, a few months ago I tried again and it installed. I do not remember which update it was. I think it was in February (2025). Thank you for all of your help!

Here is the problem:
Adobe officially does not support the ARM version of Windows at all. Only the x86-64 version of Windows is supported. The 23.6.8 version of Premiere Pro, however, added ARM Windows support on an experimental basis.

Thank you so much for your response. It is running through emulation, which they started supporting in version 25. When I installed it, creative cloud indicated that there is no ARM version, but it will run through emulation. There are other posts in this community indicating that it should run. The earlier version runs, and this new version will not even launch.

Hi @John Nomura - I am able to run version 23.6.8 and 25.1 on Windows 11 Arm 26100.2605.
Do you have any plugins installed?
Have you tried holding down shift while opening Premiere and select all of the check boxes?

Hi! Thank you for your response. No plugins. Fresh install on a new surface laptop 7. I did a support chat with adobe and let them remote in to the computer. They verified no plugins, correct c++ libraries, read/write privileges, etc. Adobe could not get it to work and concluded that windows ARM is not officially supported or guaranteed. I was disappointed. Clearly it works for some people and adobe's website seems to claim support through emulation.
