I've run PrPro on a variety of laptops & desktops with only rare crashes. What is the media you're working with, is it on an internal or external connected drive, and what effects are you using?

Hello Neil, I am not using any effect. With internal drive.

The program always locks after zooming in on a shot or cutting a shot,

I put play ... and it locks after having been working for 20 or 30 minutes.

Thanks!

In order to help troubleshooting, we need your info: computer specs including OS/CPU/GPU, the media and what made it, the place it's stored, and what effects and/or 3rd party plugins are being used.

I hope you help me solve the problem. It is terrible to stop and have to

turn off the computer because everything locks up ... especially on a

new computer with good ram and space.

Thanks again.

As I asked above, what is the media you're using? What format/codec, and of course framesize and framerate. And what effects are you using?

DNxHD/R in 1920x1080 should be a fairly easy codec to get decent playback, especially before effects are applied.

What are you doing prior to the crashes?

So adding an edit point or doing any scaling, then play ... huh.

@mattchristensen  ... would you perchance have any ideas?

Matt's on PTO.

Sabrina,

Definitely try File > Close All Projects then Edit > Preferences > Media Cache - delete all media cache. Reboot Premiere Pro with ALT pressed down and choose to delete Preferences. Might be something weird with DNx media too. If that troubleshooting steps didn't work, I'd try transcoding. I wonder how the DNxHD media was acquired. An Atomos device, perhaps?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, now I'll try ... the recital project just got stuck again ...

I don't have an Atomos device.
I'm using another codec to edit a movie and the same thing happens to me ... I don't think it's the codec. Maybe I have to change Premiere Version ...? I do not know what to do.

Now I try with ALT pressed.

Thanks,
Sabrina
