Premiere 2022 & 2023 crashing when opening certain sequences from existing projects

Posting on behalf of a colleague.  I edited a project in Pr 22.6.4 on an iMac Pro and handed the hard drive over to my colleague.  The main video is pretty basic with a few different camera sources, some music, some light Transform keyframes, and a bit of time remapping on a few clips.

He was unable to open the project on his iMac Pro without a crash, in both Pr2022 and 2023.  So he created an empty new project and imported my exisiting project.  In that case, he is able to navigate bins, play audio tracks, view raw footage, and open sequences that are cut-to-cut soundbite edits.  As soon as he tries to open my completed sequence, he crashes.

I have a .dmp file which I believe is one of the crash logs from Pr2023.  Would anyone be able to take a look at it?  What's also concerning is he is seeing this same behavior with other exisiting projects that he has worked on.  We are hoping it's an easy fix and Premiere is getting hung up on some effect or something.  We have reset preferences, trashed the media cache, unplugged Blackmagic I/O.

I don't know if something got inadvertantly updated on his machine, or where this hangup could be.  We hope to isolate it so he is able to resume work on exisiting projects.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do either of you have 3rd party plugins installed?

Thank you! We discovered late yesterday that it had something to do with some FilmImpact transitions that were installed. Could have been that my versions were newer, and he had older ones installed.

Hi there!

Sorry about the crash. What's the source of the media files that are used in the project? Can you check if crash reports are saved? https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/faq-where-do-i-find-premiere-pro-crash-logs-...

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika
