My MBP 16" M1 Max with 64GB RAM (OS 13.0.1) was super fast running Premiere until I "upgraded" to Premiere 2022 (22.6.3) and 2023 (23.1). Now it takes almost a minute to just SAVE a project! I have auto-save and all project files on a fast RAID, so it's not iCloud. It lags constantly while scrubbing through 1920x1080 ProRes files, H264, you name it. The spining ball of death appears when doing simple tasks. I feel like I'm working on an old computer with slow drives in 2015. Acutally I think Premiere ran way better on my old Mac in 2015. And, everyone I know is having the same problems or worse.
Premiere 2021 ran great, but I trusted Adobe and now I have lots of new projects in 2022/2023, so I'm stuck. It's so frustrating and insane!
Why does Adobe constantly break software that is working great? This is NOT progress. This is NOT an upgrade. This is IDIOTIC.
Dear Adobe,
PLEASE SLOW DOWN YOUR RELENTLESS RELEASES OF NEW VERSIONS UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY WORK! Entire industries depend on your software working. New features mean nothing if the entire program ceases to function, and no one even cares about 90% of your yearly 'improvements'. We are all on the hook. We have no choice. You are not gaining subscribers from releasing half-baked new versions every year that take another year of updates to just run as well as the previous version. Please, please, please SLOW DOWN! Refine software slowly, make performance improvements, streamline, and only release software you know works as well or better than the previous version. You are not a consumer software company! Millions of us depend on your software for our livelihoods. My $4500 top of the line 2022 MacBook Pro is basically useless now until you fix your software.
