Premiere captions lower case to upper case / all caps

Hi!

Is there a way to convert auto-gen captions from lowercase into uppercase without copying and pasting each line into word and changing there?

Hi Phil, you can change it in the Essential Graphics window.

I don't see any way to force uppercase at all in the Essential Graphics panel. Only Faux Italic and Underline.

Screenshot or it's not there! Ha. But seriously, in the latest version there's only faux italics and Underline, neither of which make anything UPPERCASE...

Ah. Are your captions 608/708 or something other than Subtitle?

608 and 708 (708 is an opt-drag copy of 608).

Interesting. I find these faux styles for each of these 3:

Subtitles Bold, Ital, All caps, Small caps, Super, Sub, Underline
608 Ital, Underline
708 Ital,Super,Sub,Underline

I checked the possible workaround of exporting a Subtitle track as srt and reimporting as 608 or 708. The export does NOT use all caps. And there is no style code carried.

Does PR have an option for ANY text that will convert to all upper case?

Did you get this working Dave? I'm have the same issue and all the documentation says it should have the TT but I only see Faux Italic and Underline. I'm in 23.6 and 24.1 both have the same issue.

As noted, PR does not provide an option to use all caps for a 608 (or 708) Subtitle stream. I was curious: it also wasn't there in the previous caption workflow 2020.

Curious, what documentation? The PR caption workflow is here:

But it only illustrates Subtitle format, which has all caps.

One click to make all caps or small caps, no punctuation would save me hours of double clicking and manual text editing.  

I feel like this should be easy, tons of other apps have figured it out...

So I got in there but you have to double click into the transcript... I'm going to see if it works with captions that were already made.
