Good morning!
After the latest Adobe Premiere update, my editing became a living hell.
I've already disabled all possible AI features.
Every time I click on the timeline, the hard drive starts working, and it takes between 1 and 3 minutes for it to return to my control.
I get the impression that Premiere gets lost in some internal routine.
This only happens when I have more than one video track.
When working with a single video track, Premiere runs normally, but if I add another video or a simple adjustment layer, it freezes.
I follow all the requirements for Premiere to work properly, and it still freezes.
I have all the updated video codecs installed on my PC.

Bom Dia !
Good evening, sorry for the delay in responding. I work with events and sometimes it's just work/sleep/work. I found the problem. I had 2 monitors. I sold the monitors and installed a widescreen monitor. In Windows, both monitors still appeared, and Premiere was sending the monitor to these "ghosts". I uninstalled them in the device manager and the crashes stopped. Thank you all very much, as it was a bug in Windows 11.

Hi Gilberto Video Editor,
We're sorry about the poor experience. Please provide more information about the system specs (OS, CPU, GPU, and RAM). Are the media files saved on an internal drive or a network/external drive?
Thanks,
Sumeet

That definitely sounds frustrating, Gilberto — especially after the latest update. Since the issue only happens when adding extra video layers, it might be related to hardware acceleration or cache behavior in the new version.
Here are a few things to try that often help in this scenario:
1. Disable hardware-accelerated decoding/encoding:
Go to Edit > Preferences > Media and uncheck both “Enable hardware accelerated decoding” and “encoding.” Then restart Premiere.
2. Reset media cache:
Edit > Preferences > Media Cache > Delete All Media Cache Files. Corrupted cache after updates can cause severe lag.
3. Try a fresh GPU driver:
Even if it’s “up to date,” try a clean install of NVIDIA Studio Driver (not the Game Ready version).
4. Switch the Renderer:
Go to File > Project Settings > General and change “Renderer” from GPU Acceleration (CUDA) to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. If performance improves, it’s GPU-related.
5. Test with a new project and same clips:
Sometimes project files from older builds get bloated or buggy after major updates.
If the freezes stop after switching to software-only rendering, it’s likely a driver or GPU acceleration issue introduced in the latest version.
