Hi, i trying to crack down this for a time but now that is annoying a little my experience
Normally, i order the itens in project tab by labels and i got used to see in order the bin, sequence, audio, video and audio, video only and still
BUT, in the recent update, the default sequence label is in top no matter what other label you assing in the sequence (aside of course, the mango label who mixes with bin and the forest label who mixes with audio)

So, a simple question: is the color labels have a order/hierarchy or this is a bug?

It looks like labels have a new sort order in the latest version of Premiere.
Here's how they sorted in 2023:
And here's how they sort now in 2024:
You can revert to the old sorting order by changing the Label Defaults in Settings > Labels. For example, you can change the default for Sequence to Brown, and it will sort after bins.

Delving into this further, I discovered that the Label column is being sorted by the blue value in RGB. So if you want to go back to the old way of sorting, the simplest solution is to go to Settings > Labels and set your Label Color Preset to Classic.

Wow. Just ... wow.
Thanks for the sleuthing Paul, that's amazing work. I'm just blown away that they sort anything by the blue content of the label color!

A more accurate description is that Premiere sorts labels by blue first, then green, then red.
I figured this out from the new file format Premiere uses to save label color presets.

Thanks for raising this issue, rikeditor, and your research PaulMurphy.
This seems like information that is ripe for documentation by Adobe.
