Premiere Pro (2019) don't play MOV files from Nikon (frozen video, audio only)

Hi,

When I uploaded my Nikon MOV files (Video Codec Type: MP4/MOV H.264 4:2:0  (Full Range)) into Premiere Pro 2019 they don't play video. I got audio only, and frozen video.

On my very old laptop and Kdenlive editing software this was working smoothly without problem. Do I need to buy any codec or do anything else to be able such files in Premiere Pro?

[1] I took small part of a .MOV clip (about 5 seconds), exported it into .mp4 file (took about 4 minutes!) - and such file works. Why is not playing in Premiere Pro and why takes so long time for just 5 seconds?

[2] Files .MOV play very well in any video player in the system, only not in PP.

Yes, I imported them into PP.

However, I found a solution - just add .mp4 to the end of a file, import it again and works smoothly. Some kind of very old bug fixed in 2015, but live again.

Upload means to transfer files from a local computer to a remote computer over a network, such as the Internet.

You Import media into PP.

I wish Adobe would remove dated and erroneous information such as this.  Changing the extension on the file does not work in the current versions of PP.  I'm still having trouble importing .mov files, it loads 1 file into the timeline but no more.  Only in a new sequence will the video appear, otherwise only audio.  I have updated Quicktime and installed the latest codecs.  It was possible until recently to seamlessly import these files but something changed.

If this problem isn't solved I will be forced to use other software for editing.

Hi Paulo Py,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with MOV files. Could you please confirm if the playback problem occurs only in the Program Monitor or also in the Source Monitor? Is the video part imported but not playing, or is the video part not carried to the timeline and only the audio shows up? We're here to help, just need a bit more info. If you'd like, feel free to create a new thread with more details, and we will get it checked.

Thanks,

Sumeet

The video plays excellently well every other program I use, but in Premier
it is not working. Please, adobe, solve the problem. Since I´m paying the
program to work, and to use fully.

Would Adobe be able to offer a solution to this problem?
MP4 and MOV videos still aren't importing correctly into Adobe Premiere. It continues to import only the audio.
It's difficult to work like this, because I really need to use videos (even more than the accompanying audio tracks).
