Premiere Pro 5.5 Clips Offline ISsue

New Here ,
Mar 02, 2025 Mar 02, 2025

In Premiere Pro 5.5 Supposedly rendered clips are not showing previews. The clips are in the project folder, in the PP project bin and are greyed out when loading the project, meaning the project recognizes them. I've rendered the timeline and the green "Rendered" line is above the entire timeline, but they don't render (with preview) and remain with the red "media offline" preview.  Screen shot below. Any help would be appreciated.

Your clips are offline.

You need to relink the clips in the Project Panel.

Page 159 of the PDF manual will tell you how.

Which manual? I don't have any manuals, but would need to download the PDF, so  link would be great. Thanks for the replies!

I haven't found the downloadable PDF yet, but from a bit of searching and YT, it looks like a right click on the missing media should bring up the place to click Link. Right clicking on my missing media doesn't have the Link word. See screen grab below.

Going a slightly different route, if the offline clip is selected, I should be able to go to Clip > Link. But the word Link is greyed out, not available.

Right click on clip in project panel not timeline.

By @DBA53

That is a different link: linking audio and video.

I'm just wondering how you made this conclusion?

"and are greyed out when loading the project, meaning the project recognizes them"

The clips are in the project, but the greyed out means there is a problem, as Ann indicates.

Is this available?

1 In the Project panel, select one or more offline clips.
2 Choose Project > Link Media.
3 Select the source file, and click Select.
