I have lost my project file. How can I recover it?

Do a Windows search.

Is it on an external drive not connected to the computer?

Maybe try starting a new project. Premiere may remember where you saved your last project and then you can look there. Also, Premiere saves to the Documents folder by default. So if you haven't changed the path of where things are saved you may want to try looking in the Documents folder.
