Premiere Pro Color Changes When Playhead is Parked vs Playback

There's a substantial color shift when the video is stopped vs playing. This is really unacceptable and makes it impossible to color grade. I'm on a Mac M2 Max and using Premiere 24.3.

Sorry, I resolved it. With the Playback window selected, under view, I changed it to 'High Quality Playback'. I still don't understand why there would be a dramatic shift in color and tone with this deselected though.

Edit: Thanks for the update, it came between clicking on the original post and typing what's below.

HQ Playback means it gives the higher CPU/GPU workload to get the best image. Without it, the system can 'loaf' a bit for better playback if you are dropping frames.

Not nearly enough information (in the original post) to even start guessing.

What are your CM settings in Premiere set to? Screen grabs of the entire Lumetri panel Settings tab would be of use, drag/drop directly into the text reply box here.

What's the media involved? Effects used?

And what is your playback settings ... full, half, quarter, and for high quality playback or not, from the Program monitor?
