Premiere Pro Crashing CONSTANTLY - 2022

Mar 20, 2022 Mar 20, 2022

I'm not the only one this is happening to but it needs a fix now....

I'm working on a project and I get about a minute in each time and premiere freezes and continues playing the video preview with audio, but ultimately stops responding.

Please can someone look at this, it's making my job a living hell.

I have no information to give as to why this happens, it's nothing in particular but its a ******* miracle if I can get more than 2 minutes into an edit without a crash.

It would be good if you could give any details on if you have done ANY troubleshooting. There are piles of recommendations here about clearing the cache etc. Have you done that? Is this a new project or are you editing an old project? Start totally fresh and import footage. What's your footage? FPS, size etc. Provide us info to help you

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Thank you! I did not know about NVIDIA Studio Drivers, so I'll do that as well as the cache and see if any improvements.
