Premiere Pro Crashing When Clicking File After Editing Footage

Hi, so the problem I have with Premiere Pro is that whenever I go to use the program, so like editing the footage or cutting it etc and then go to click anything at the top whether it may be file, edit, window etc it will just go into not responding and break if anyone knows how to fix this then please let me know. Thanks

Just found the fix, the way to do it is through rebuilding windows as it seems to have been an operating system problem.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Hi, I tried talking to the adobe worker and they were also unable to help me resolve my issue I am beginning to think that I might have to rebuild windows or premiere pro just doesn't work with my specific spec of pc

I'm also getting a bit worried that this problem won't be fixed within the next few days as I really need this to be fixed as something is coming up where I am gonna need to be able to use the program.

Hi, sorry for the late reply had to sleep. My computer spec is:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700F CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz

RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Also I have two hard drives one is 500 GB(C drive) and I have 265 GB left, My second one is 2TB (D drive) and I have 1.49TB left

 

On the first C Hard drive I only really have windows on it and a few other things to do with my pc aswell as some adobe stuff, a video downloader and some stuff to do with my recording software

Then for my D drive: that is where I keep everything important like games, documents, video footage, and stuff for future projects.

If the two hard drives are HDD and not SSD, then you will have poor performance, but it shouldn't crash.

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot of the properties of your media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Handbrake to convert to constant frame rate:

Shutter Encoder may also be used to convert to Constant Frame Rate:

Also just tried setting it to a constant framerate and then I put the file into premiere pro and the same issue occured
