I updated to Premiere Pro 2022 yesterday, after updating my computer tot he new operating system (Catalina). I could use it briefly last night, just connecting some AE files and doing some very minor edits. It started crashing everytime I tried to render the footage. Now it crashes every time you do anything. Open, play footage, crash. Open, link media, crash. Open, scroll timeline, crash. I have no idea what is going on or what to do. I've double checked my system with he requirements for the software and my system is still fine to run the program.
Any ideas?

I am in the exact same boat. I've been trying to troubleshoot this thing for two days and it is maddening. I think it has something to do with the AE files. I even went back to an earlier version of my sequence and redid all my AE animations (using the Replace with After Effects contextual menu), figuring something had become corrupt in the previous AE file. I got the whole timeline redone, hit Render In to Out, and it froze after about 5 seconds. So then I force quit, try to restart, and none of my media is linked. Try to relink, and it crashes. I shut everything down, restart, things look okay and the media links, but I try to render, and back to the frustrating beginning. WTF?

This is a frustrating thing. Most users are fine, some suffering irritations, and some totally hammered. Why? Don't know of course.
So listing your OS/hardware, media, effects, and workflow would be helpful to try and start troubleshooting who is being hammered from who isn't. Then one can move on down the line to figure out what the heck is rotten.
And as always, I never ever recommmend anyone install a totally new major version like this as anything other than a test bed, no matter the application. Once you know it's stable, then move client work onto it.
Most of the colorists I work with regularly are total Resolve people. They never install a new version on their main client machine until it is proved stable on a secondary machine in their shop. Which say with the new release, 17.4, is very wise. That's had the same types of issues as PrPro 2022. Most users doing fine, some with irritations but able to work, some totally bonked. Needing to stay in their previous version.
Yea, make sure the stupid CC app is not set to auto-update your programs. That's ... baaaad. And you'll have to check it on occasion as sometimes the blame thing resets itself.

I got on a chat with an Adobe specialist, and after giving all the details I gave him permission to control my machine (I'm on a Mac running the latest versions of Premiere and After Effects, 22.0). He worked quickly so I was only able to follow so much, but most of it involved moving some plugins to a new folder location. After all that, I restarted my machine and everything was fixed.

Ahh, it was a "location" issue ... thanks for posting back!
