PPro crashes regulraly as I trim clips and insert. If I save after EVERY edit, it crashes less often but still crashes. This issue developed on my ACER Concept D, purchsed 2 month ago. The graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 1650. Driver version is 126.96.36.19933. PPro version is 15.2.
Other CC products give a similar report but so far, they've worked flawlessly.
The Windows build is: 20H2 (OS Build 19042.985)
Upon startup, I get the compatibility report but it says my driver is outdated? It is the latest one. Ironically, I had no issues with the 6 year old HP, I replaced.
I have better luck using the "Studio" Drivers instead of the "Gaming Ready" drivers. The gaming versions seem to cause my entire system to be unstable.
What is a "studio" driver. I'm unfamiliar with the term.
PS my laptop isn't really a gaming computer. It's basically the Acer version of a Microsoft Surface.
I think I answered my own question. Thanks for the link!
I'll try it out.
Thanks to both of you. I now know what a studio driver is and cross your fingers, it appears to be working.
BTW, on the NVIDIA website, it even states that studio drivers are more for creatives vs gamers.
I have to wonder why the Adobe site doesn't point this out in thier troubleshooting tips. It must be a fairly common problem.
>wonder why the Adobe site
Different product, but I reported last year that several tutorial links don't work... and the person in charge said the problems would be fixed 'ASAP'
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/tutorials.html with 6 rows of links
1st row Getting started with Premiere Elements
-center link Import videos results in 502 Bad Gateway
2nd row Editing Essentials
-left link Import videos results in 502 Bad Gateway
-right link Shaky videos results in 502 Bad Gateway
And so on for several more unfixed errors
The point being that the Adobe employees who support the various programs are NOT the ones who update the Adobe web pages... and reported errors often do not get fixed, even after the person in charge of the problem page SAYS the error will be fixed
Other users here don't have to wait for web page changes that may never come... we provide current information as it is learned
I'll carry your feedback back to our docs team. Thanks for the feedback.
