Just checking, but Premiere (current version) in Windows, it doesn't have WASAPI drivers? I'm asking because I'm trying to edit a project in 5.1, and I connected an HDMI cable from my Nvidia GTX 1650 card to my receiver, configured 5.1 in the Windows sound preferences, and my receiver tells me that it's getting a multichannel 5.1 48 Khz signal. And the Windows test that goes around all the speakers works fine, I can hear the sounds one after another coming from each of the speakers.
And in Adobe Audition, the only way to achieve 5.1 audio is to select WASAPI, and it works fine. I recorded some ambient sound in 4 channels, 2 front and 2 rear, and when I create a multichannel project, and I use the surround panner to put the two rear channels to the side speakers, and solo that track, I can only hear the sounds coming from the two rear speakers. So all good.
But Premiere doesn't have WASAPI. It only has MME or Asio. Asio only shows the motherboard audio, so it's useless. And MME shows the receiver, but it only shows 2 channels in the Output Mapping section. That's for Adobe Desktop Audio, I can select something called Adobe SRT, which I have no clue what it is, and it shows more channels, but all those channels show "Adobe SRT device 1", then the same thing but 2, and keeps going all the way to device 8. Clearly nothing to do with the HDMI output.
So why is it that Audition allows me to monitor 5.1 audio but Premiere doesn't? Is there anything wrong with my installation, or does Premiere really doesn't have WASAPI?

Asio4All is the driver service you need to install to have 5.1 sound out of Premiere. Sigh.

Thanks. I guess it would be too hard for Adobe to include the same driver in Premiere that they include in Audition... Sigh too.
