Premiere Pro freezing and stops to work

I'm at my wit's end with this one. Shortly after starting the work, Premiere simply freezes with a cursor of the current tool and completely stops to work, even when I'm just trying to select some elements, and the only solution is to close it down with Task Manager. Btw, Task Manager also shows that its CPU drops to 1% and lower. I've tried everything: updating GPU drivers, reinstall, update the software itself, tweaking something inside the app. Nothing seems to work. Please, help

Hard to tell what 'done everything' involves.

FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.

FAQ: How to clear media cache files

Make new project and import old one

Post Premiere version and build, OS, computer specs with all drives and media used (wrapper and codec, vfr/cfr).

Thanks for responding! So, I did mean everything, including preferences reset, new project import, and media cache clear. It just happened on one unlucky day, still is going and the app is impossible to work in.

BTW:

Premiere Pro ver. 14.5.0, build 51, Windows 10 64-bit;

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.71 GHz
RAM 16,0 GB

64-bit OS, CPU x64

GPUs (yes, I'm working on laptop, but like I said, everything was fine before):

Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 & NVIDIA GeForce 940MX

2 hard drives: 117GB SSD and 931 HDD;

And about media, well, idk honestly, I've been using video and audio files downloaded from the Internet, some were done and rendered by me, so I can't tell about this one.

That SSD is small.  How full is it?

That could be the issue.

How full is  the HDD?

What is located on each drive?
