So ive notice a performance issue over the last 6 months or so of using premiere pro. Initially i thought it had something to do with my computer but i found something that could lead to a solution. I have a project that has 1 item. a 30 second test video. Then I add a single jpg file that the size is neglegible, and everything instantly takes a performance hit. Trying to adjust the timeline and select different elements on the timeline to adjust size and effects on it, is slowed. the only way to "update" where im working on is to hit the blue bar to determine time position on the timeline. It almost catches up to what i was working on. I have a 2060 6gb, ryzen 5 3600 and i have an 1 tb nvme ssd. I just use premiere pro as a hobby, so I did uninstall and reinstall to see if any files were corrupted or broken, and nothing changed. Wanted to report a bug to see if this is a premiere issue or a Me issue.

JPEGs are well supported.
For best results, make sure that it's RGB color mode and double-check that the image size isn't too much larger than the Sequence frame size.
You could also try converting it to a PNG outside of Premiere Pro and then use File > Replace Footage to swap the JPEG out for the corresponding PNG.
