Hi from the UK.
I have a late 2013 21.5" iMac, next model up from the base model. It is now starting to slow up and whereas before it did a reasonable job of editing 4K footage, it started to struggle.
I guessed that the fusion drive was starting to show its age and so swapped it out for a SATA SSD (Samsung 870 QVO 1TB). It has made the iMac run like a new machine, other than the fact that it seriously struggles with video editing- the main reason I put the new drive in!
can anyone suggest something I can do, maybe replacing the internal drive with a different one, or adding an external drive? I'm thinking that the read/write speed of what I've installed could be the problem but I'd welcome any advice.
thanks in advance!
